I stopped into Wave Hill in Riverdale last Friday, to pick up a few items from the gift shop for our annual holiday gift guide. (Look for it on Nov. 30.)
Since my first visit more than 20 years ago, Wave Hill has been one of my very favorite public gardens. Hard to believe you’re in the Bronx!
It’s still holding onto a surprising amount of fall color, even with some things still in bloom.
I’d recognize these distinctive Wave Hill chairs anywhere.
Late Korean mums:
Leaves on, and off, a Full Moon maple tree, just outside The Shop at Wave Hill:
Lots still going on in the Herb Garden. I think this is African Blue Basil, a total winner of an annual:
Don’t you just love this crazy-colorful Mexican Bush Sage?
This is so going into my garden next year. Look at it, in November!
Asters still in flower:
Viburnums, with gobs of berries:
A holly? Magnolia?
A Japanese maple, in full glory for fall:
It looks like a cold weekend, but head for Wave Hill if you still need a hit of gardening before winter.
