Thanksgiving Workshop on Perfect Pumpkin Pies Follows on November 20
Wave Hill offers seasonal cooking sessions year-round, inspired by what’s growing in the gardens of this public garden and cultural center in the Bronx, overlooking the majestic Hudson River and Palisades. In partnership with Wave Hill exclusive partner Great Performances, a recognized leader in the locavore movement, Wave Hill invites visitors to roll up their sleeves and learn traditional methods of preserving seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs this fall. This series of three practical workshops uses fresh produce from Great Performances’ own Katchkie Farm in Kinderhook, New York.
Practice techniques for canning, pickling and making herbal vinegars, and put up several bottles or jars?perfect holiday gifts! Participants receive recipes, tasty samples and hands-on instruction from our chef-instructors. Space is limited; registration required.
A workshop on making the perfect pumpkin pie caps the cooking season at Wave Hill. Great Performances chef Newton Pryce alleviates your pie-making fears in this hands-on workshop. Mix and roll delectable pastry from scratch and make a delicious pumpkin filling laced with seasonal spices.

Located only 30 minutes from midtown Manhattan, Wave Hill’s free shuttle van transport you to and from our front gate and Metro-North’s Riverdale station, the W. 242 St. stop on the #1 subway line, and to and from our free offsite parking lot.
