Home Gardening Series Lectue Rescheduled

February
9

Because of the snow, tomorrow’s Home Gardening Series Lecture, “Eliminate Your Lawn” by Larry Weaner, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Same time—10 am to noon—and same place in Ossining.

Here’s the new listing:

“Eliminate Your Lawn”: 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 24, Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center, 299 N. Highland Ave. (Route 9), Ossining. Speaker: Larry Weaner, who founded the Glenside, Pa., firm Larry Weaner Landscape Associates in 1982. He is a past board member and Environmental Committee chair of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.

Here’s a link to the previous post with info on the full series.

    Hi Bill,

Wanted to thank you for letting everyone know through your blog last week about the re-scheduled Home Gardening Lecture Eliminate Your Lawn with Larry Weiner at Mariondale Retreat and Conference Center on Feb. 24th.

What a great turnout and wasn’t he terrific!!

We’ll be sending you a press release in the next couple of weeks about the new class of Master Gardener trainees’ final group project for the gardening public in mid-late April. Should it go to the blog or to you personally at LoHud?

    Best,
    JoAnn DiRico Trautmann

Thanks JoAnn. Yes, Larry was terrific—he really gets you thinking about all of the ways you can get rid of your lawn.
Send the release to me via email at wcary@lohud.com.

About the author
Katie Bill Cary grew up in Louisville, Ky. His gardening was limited to growing parsley and impatiens on the windowsill of Manhattan walkups until the mid-1990s when he bought a rundown old chicken farm on 8 acres in the Hudson Valley. Now he spends his weekends chasing deer, hacking away at invasive shrubs and vines and wondering why he doesn`t have more meadow and less lawn.
