On gardening with Bill Cary

Source for Hydrangeas

July
8

One of my colleagues who lives in Putnam is looking for a good local source for hydrangeas (specifically ‘Lady in Red’) in Westchester or Putnam.

These are the nurseries that I thought might be good:

Rosedale Nursery in Hawthorne
Sprainbrook, Scarsdale
Tony’s, Larchmont
Berkshire, Patterson

He’s close to the Conn. border, so I also suggested Twombly’s in Monroe or
Sam Bridge in Greenwich.

Any other suggestions??

About the author
Katie Bill Cary grew up in Louisville, Ky. His gardening was limited to growing parsley and impatiens on the windowsill of Manhattan walkups until the mid-1990s when he bought a rundown old chicken farm on 8 acres in the Hudson Valley. Now he spends his weekends chasing deer, hacking away at invasive shrubs and vines and wondering why he doesn`t have more meadow and less lawn.
