A Very Good Year for Dahlias

It seems to have been a particularly good year for dahlias.
Ed Bonci and his wife, Pam Jenson, said they had extras from their Eastchester back yard and decided to make a couple of bouquets for me and my co-workers. What a treat.
These are Ed’s photos of Pam at work.

Wow!

Thanks, Ed and Pam! People were taking tours around my desk to see the dahlias.

Ed also sent a photo of how his yard looks now:

and three photos of his back deck (one with Emma, the sweetest yellow Lab). At the beginning of the season:

in June:

and now:

Don’t you hate it when that first frost turns everything to mush?

I also had the good fortune of the benefit of a bouquet of dahlias. They were lovely and lasted 8 days in a vase. Ed and Pam are to be complimented on their talents. Of course, as we all know, none of this would have been possible without the understanding and patience of that sweet Emma. Gil Castellano
